About Us

The Garden Folk is a South London-based art collective founded by Dominic Brooks and Yuning Huang. Bringing together their distinct cultural backgrounds, the duo finds common ground in a shared worldview: seeing the environment around them as a quirky, slightly uncanny, yet deeply playful place. While their practice is rooted in illustration, it branches out into sculpture and installation. Through these media, they investigate the "miscellaneous", finding inspiration in the friction between mundane daily life, ancient myths, and religious motifs to create a visual commentary on the world they inhabit.
